When thinking about how to safeguard what has
been built at the Asia Art Archive for the long term, and to ensure that
this important resource is around for generations to come, the Board of
Directors has unanimously agreed that the establishment of an endowment
is a logical step.
The endowment campaign was launched at the 2007 annual fundraiser on 7 December 2007, with the goal to raise HK$50 million (US$6.4 million) in the next 3 to 5 years. The core capital of the endowment will be invested to provide annual support for AAA operations and programming initiatives.
In addition to the endowment, AAA will continue to depend on support obtained through grants, patron memberships, the fundraiser, and sponsorship in kind.
To date the Archive has raised HK$10 million towards the endowment.
