Fiona HE Fiona He graduated with a B.A. from McGill University, majoring in Asian Studies and Art History in 2004. Upon her graduation, she received the Canada-China Scholar Exchange Grant to undertake in a one-year course focusing on Chinese art history at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing. Since 2004, she has been working as a freelance translator for major galleries in Beijing specializing in Chinese contemporary art. She joined AAA in July 2008, with the interests of proactively seeking out dialogue with the local art scene, uncovering emerging artists, alternative art forms, spaces and exhibitions in China, despite the commercial focus of the market.

Phoebe WONG Phoebe Wong graduated with a B.A. and a M.A. from the School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, respectively. Phoebe Wong is a Hong Kong-based researcher focusing on design, art and visual culture. Phoebe joined the AAA in October 2002 as a researcher for Hong Kong art, and now she takes up the roles of Head Researcher and Project Manager to oversee AAA's research direction and activities.

Janet CHAN After graduating from the University of Hong Kong, Department of Comparative Literature and Department of Fine Arts in 2002, Janet Chan joined the AAA as a researcher on the publication Paris-Pekin. She continued her study at HKU soon after and obtained her Masters degree from the Department of Comparative Literature in 2004. She is one of the founders of GuLLDY (www.gulldy.org), a young and playful new media art group established in 2003 with the support from Dawei Charitable Foundation Ltd. In May 2007, Janet rejoined the AAA as Research Coordinator, after working in various local art and cultural institutions including academic institutes, non-profit art organizations, a government museum, and a commercial gallery.

Anthony YUNG Anthony Yung graduated from the Department of Fine Arts and School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Hong Kong. He joined the AAA as a student helper in October 2005, and is now coordinating production of a documentary, conducting interviews and collecting materials for the AAA project 'Documentary Film Exhibition ?Materials of the Future: Documenting Contemporary Chinese Art from 1980-1990'.

LAW Nga-wing (Wen Yau) Law Nga-wing, a.k.a. Wen Yau, is a cross-media artist, writer, researcher and curator based in Hong Kong. Recently, she concentrates on new media and live art, and her work often grapples with cultural difference and intimacy in public space. Her work has been shown in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, Japan, Taiwan, and Bolivia. She currently works at AAA as a part-time Researcher for Hong Kong, as well as working as a workshop facilitator, and contributing to various magazines in Hong Kong and Asia. Her recent research projects include: 'Interdisciplinary Arts in Hong Kong' (commissioned by Hong Kong Arts Development Council, 2004-05), 'Hong Kong Performance Art (2005-06)', and 'Talkover/Handover: post-97 Hong Kong Art (2007)'.

Takayuki KUBOTA Takayuki Kubota is an artist, researcher and writer who currently lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. Kubota graduated with a B.A. from Temple University, Tyler School of Art. Kubota worked for various international film festivals, in TV production, and on design-related projects as a technical supervisor and assistant director in Japan. He also worked as a researcher and assistant curator for institutions and museums in the United States and is currently involved in several exhibitions and art projects in Tokyo and the United States. Kubota joined the AAA as researcher for Japanese art in September 2008.

Hyejo YUM Yum currently lives and works in Seoul, Korea. She completed her B.F.A. in Painting and Printmaking and her M.A. in Art History (Far Eastern Asian Art) at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. In 2006, she joined a program called ‘Art and its Market?in London. Yum worked as an intern for Changdong Studio of the National Museum of Modern Art and the National Museum of Korea, assisting in their research projects. From 2005 to 2007, she worked on the CDZA (Curating Degree Zero Archive) exhibition project and at the IAS (Insa Art Space) archive. Hyejo Yum joined the AAA as part-time Researcher for Korea in April 2007.

Maliha NOORANI Maliha Noorani was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and grew up in Singapore and Lahore, Pakistan. Following school, she went on to complete her Bachelor in Fine Arts from one of the oldest art colleges in South Asia, the National College of Arts. Here she studied sculpture, print-making, painting, photography and art theory and went on to major in Indian and Persian miniature painting. After graduation, she taught A-level art and undergraduate-level art at the NCA, moving on to pursue a Masters degree in the History of Art and Archeology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.
After graduating, Maliha briefly joined MotiRoti, a London-based international arts organization, as head researcher for a multicultural arts installation. She has also undertaken research and cataloguing work for ASL, a South Asian art consultancy and, more recently, interned at Sotheby’s auction house in the Department of Indian and Islamic Art. Maliha Noorani joined the AAA as full-time Researcher for Pakistan in April 2007.

Ringo BUNOAN Ringo is an artist, writer and curator. Since her graduation from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts in 1997, she has participated in numerous exhibitions in Manila and across Asia. She has published her writings on art in several publications, including Transit, Businessworld, Art Manila, Pananaw and Flash Art. She also taught briefly with the Department of Theory at the UPCFA from 1997 to 1998. From 1999 to 2004, she led the independent art space Big Sky Mind, which she founded with Katya Guerrero and other artists. Big Sky Mind played an active role in supporting young artists through exhibitions, exchanges, residencies, documentation, and other projects. It offered the first artist-initiated residency program in the Philippines and was part of a wide international network of independent artists, spaces and organizations. In 2003, she was named as one of the Thirteen Artists by the Cultural Centre of the Philippines. After nearly three years in Kathmandu, she is back in Manila as the Researcher on Philippine contemporary art for the AAA.

Larry SHAO Larry Shao is an artist, curator, and researcher who resides currently in Taipei, Taiwan. He received his B.A. in Studio Arts from Seattle Pacific University and his M.F.A. in New Genres from San Francisco Art Institute. Since 1998, Larry has participated as an artist in various exhibitions in the United States and internationally, and recently begun his role as a curator. Prior to his relocation to Taiwan in 2007, he independently researched Chinese Contemporary Art with a focus in Taiwanese Artists since 2003. He is currently working for the AAA as a part-time Researcher for Taiwan and teaching at Taipei American School.

Narawan PATHOMVAT Narawan Pathomvat received her B.A. in English Literature and Art History from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, and her M.P.S. in Arts and Cultural Management from Pratt Institute, New York. She has worked for several art institutions in New York, including a not-for-profit arts and cultural organization, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and a contemporary art gallery, Miguel Abreu. After six years in New York, Narawan recently relocated back to Bangkok. She joined AAA as a researcher for Thailand in April 2008.
