Contemporary Asian Art Forum: Links, Platforms, Network

Jointly presented by AAA and the Cultural Co-operation Forum organized by the Hong Kong Government Home Affairs Bureau, this symposium took place at the Hong Kong Arts Centre and was held as a satellite event for the 'Asia-Cultural Co-operation Forum 2003', which was presented by the Home Affairs Bureau from 28 to 30 September 2003. Artists, curators and art professionals from Asian countries were brought together to discuss the building and sustaining of links, platforms and networks in the contemporary Asian art arena. This focused pan-Asia art event highlighted Hong Kong's new role as a platform for cultural dialogue in Asia, and as a significant partner in the development of contemporary Asian art.

The purpose of this event was to contribute to cultural debates, as well as strategic thinking within the Asia region; to encourage communication and build partnership networks; and to open intellectual exchange networks to a wider audience and new collaborators including cultural critics, policy makers, research institutions and professionals from different fields.
