At the beginning of 2009, AAA commissioned Mr. Akshaya Tankha as Project Researcher for a project on contemporary performance art practice in India. The purpose of the project is to conclude Khoj International Artists' Association's efforts on the development of performance art in India, by sorting, indexing and making available copies of the material at Khoj for the AAA.

Akshaya Tankha completed his Masters at the Department of Arts and Aesthetics in JNU, New Delhi in 2006 and subsequently an MPhil in Anthropology from Cambridge University, UK, in 2008. He is presently employed as a Research Scholar at the Alkazi Foundation for the Arts, New Delhi.
