 |
| Overview | Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh is a month-long event held in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. This exhibition began its journey in 1981 under the initiative of Shahid President Ziaur Rahman. Thereafter, each edition of the Biennale has been inaugurated by the national leader of the time.
Participating artists in the Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh are presented by their respective country. This exhibition played a key role in developing a strong cultural bond between the Asian and Pacific countries. Since mid-1990s, the Biennale has gradually extended its scope to include countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. Grand prizes and a number of honourable mention awards are given out by an International Jury Committee. |
