On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Handover, 1a space, in collaboration with the Asia Art Archive (AAA), presented 'Talkover/Handover' – an exhibition of collaborative works by 23 of Hong Kong's most active artists during the last decade.
'Talkover/Handover' began as a research project initiated by AAA, with the aim of providing a platform for reviewing the development of Hong Kong art post-1997. Interviews were conducted with 23 Hong Kong artists, some active during the Handover and others active in the years since. The individuals were invited to pair up and discuss issues surrounding the Handover and their art practice.
This video features a dialogue between Leung Meeping and Ching Chinwai Luke, conducted on 19 June 2007. They touch on cultural identity issues and share their experiences in exhibiting abroad.
