The present publication consists of writings, whether entire or in excerpted form, chosen by the artists participating in the international exhibition of the 52nd International Art Exhibition. Although none of these texts specifically addresses the artists or the art in the exhibition, their value to those who pick through this volume lies - in addition to the condensed intellectual and literary pleasure they afford - in the insights they directly or obliquely offer into the minds and sensibilities of those who have created the work presented in the Padiglione Italia and the Arsenale.
