Co-Founder and Executive Director: Claire HSU
Upon graduating with a M.A. in History of Art from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, Claire moved back to Hong Kong to co-found the Asia Art Archive in December 2000. As its first Executive Director, Claire Hsu has overseen all aspects of setting up and developing the AAA. Hsu has participated as a speaker in a number of forums and sat on a Government appointed committee (2006-07) charged with putting together a proposal for a museum to be built in the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong.

Coordinator & Education: Susanna CHUNG
Susanna Chung graduated with a B.A. from the University of Hong Kong with a major in Fine Arts, focusing on Hong Kong and Western art history, and a minor in Psychology and Linguistics. Upon graduation, Susanna joined the Asia Art Archive as Coordinator in July 2005, coordinating the fundraiser, events and projects. With a special interest in audience and youth development, Susanna initiated the education department in 2007 to facilitate awareness and usage of the AAA's collection teachers and young people.

Development & Communications: Chantal WONG
Chantal graduated from Concordia University, Montreal, with a B.F.A. in Art History in 2006 and joined AAA shorting after. She independently researched contemporary Chinese art, and has an interest in post-colonial and cultural theory. She has interned at not-for-profit art centres and commercial galleries in Montreal and Paris.

Coordinator: Enoch CHENG
Enoch Cheng graduated from The University of Hong Kong in 2007, double majoring in Fine Arts and English with an interest in modern and contemporary issues. During his studies, he interned at a local museum, a contemporary Chinese art festival in Manchester, and an artist studios program in Boston.

 
 
LIBRARY

Head Librarian: Lydia NGAI
Lydia Ngai obtained a Master of Information Management from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and has been working in the development of library content and services since 2004. She specializes in innovative on-line content for academic libraries. Before becoming involved in library and information management, she was a cultural researcher for art and design institutions.

Assistant Librarian: LAI Ching Yee
Lai Ching Yee obtained a B.A. in Humanities from the Hong Kong Baptist University in 2002, then an M.A. in Preservation and Presentation of Moving Images from the University of Amsterdam in 2005. Before joining Asia Art Archive, she worked on organizing educational programs at a university and exhibitions at a museum.

Library Assistant: Amy CHAN, Konstance LI, Angela SU
Amy Chan obtained a B.A. at the University of Hong Kong with a major in Fine Arts, and has worked for a commercial gallery as exhibition coordinator before joining the Asia Art Archive in August 2005. Currently she is also studying part-time for an M.A. in Cultural Management in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Konstance Li graduated from the University of Hong Kong, double majoring in Fine Arts and English Studies. He has an interest in the inter-relationship between art, literature and history. During his studies, he has interned in a local museum and a government department.

Angela Su obtained her B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and went on to study Fine Arts at the Ontario College of Art afterwards. She came back to Hong Kong in 1999, and has been working as a cataloguer at the Asia Art Archive since 2004.

RESEARCH+
Head Research+ and Project Manager: Phoebe WONG
Phoebe Wong graduated with a B.A. and a M.A. from the School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, respectively. Phoebe Wong is a Hong Kong-based researcher focusing on design, art and visual culture. Phoebe joined the AAA in October 2002 as a researcher for Hong Kong art, and now she takes up the roles of Head Researcher and Project Manager to oversee AAA's research direction and activities.

Research+ Coordinator: Janet CHAN
After graduating from the University of Hong Kong, Department of Comparative Literature and Department of Fine Arts in 2002, Janet Chan joined the AAA as a researcher on the publication Paris-Pekin. She continued her studies at HKU and obtained her Masters degree from the Department of Comparative Literature in 2004. In May 2007, Janet rejoined the AAA as Research Coordinator, after working in various local art and cultural institutions.

Special Project Manager: Anthony YUNG
Anthony Yung graduated from the Department of Fine Arts and School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Hong Kong in 2007. He joined AAA as a cataloguer in October 2005, and is now coordinating production of a documentary, conducting interviews and collecting material for the AAA project 'Documentary Film Exhibition ?Materials of the Future: Documenting Contemporary Chinese Art from 1980-1990'.

Susan Acret has a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Sydney. She is a former editor of ART AsiaPacific magazine, and has worked on a number of monographs on contemporary Asian artists. She is currently based in Hong Kong as a freelance editor and writer. She joins the Asia Art Archive as Editor of the archive’s online Newsletter.
