Jyoti Bhatt (b. 1934) is a renowned painter, printmaker and photographer based in Baroda. He was among the first batch of students to have enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts in Baroda when it was established in 1950, and subsequently taught there as a professor.
The Jyoti Bhatt Archive is a vast collection of visual materials that include his artwork images along with rare photographs of the Living Traditions of India that he documented across the country for over three decades since 1967. Bhatt’s diaries, sketchbooks, designs, and writings, which have also been digitised, will be made accessible online for the first time on the AAA website in the course of 2015.
