Zhang Xiaogang Archive | Materials of the Future
Brief overview (-)
In 2007, AAA worked with Chinese artist Zhang Xiaogang, best known for his ‘Family Series’ paintings, to digitise his personal archive. This digital collection is a thorough compilation of Zhang Xiaogang’s works, drawings and sketches, personal correspondence, photographs, manuscripts, news clippings, bibliographies, and exhibition publicity ephemera, spanning the period from the late 1970s to 2011. The full archive will gradually be made accessible through the Collection Online. For the full collection description, please click here.
The Zhang Xiaogang Archive is part of Materials of the Future: Documenting Contemporary Chinese Art from 1980-1990. A clip of the interview with the artist can be viewed here.
