Leipzig Museum of Contemporary Art (GfZK) and the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony (KdFS) allocate a one year scholarship for curators from China with fluent German. The scholar receives 1.000,00 Euro a month, the GfZK also offers accommodation during the stay. The beginning is the first of March 2017.

GfZK offers the opportunity to actively take part in working on the program. In summer 2017 the exhibition project „Chinafrika – under construction“ in cooperation with metroZones (Berlin) will be realised. This research-, and artproject examines since many years the cultural relations between these two regions and portrays a process, which also fundamentally changes the role of Europe. The scholarship works also with a close connection to this program.

The scholar is also asked to create an own project, which will ideally be shown in China after the ending of the year in Leipzig.
We demand all applicants to send a detailed curriculum vitae, a motivation letter and a short description of the own interests (about one page long)  until the 15th of January to the address of the GfZK, code name „STIPENDIUM FÜR KURATOR/INNEN AUS CHINA“.
